Math Problems of the Week
If we can't use our skills to solve problems, then do we even HAVE skills?
The goal for this week's sheets is to fill in the missing addition and subtraction questions with the proper/accurate missing number. Careful! They look a little easier than they are! Remember your Fact Family knowledge as you explore these tasks... sometimes to check your addition, you have to use subtraction!
Missing Digits - Addition 2-digit, 3-digit, 4-digit

THIS IS A GOOD IDEA!!
THIS IS A GOOD IDEA!!
With our writing, we always want to make sure that we are paying attention to our neatness, punctuation and structure! We will continue to work on writing a new weekly paragraph every week. I will also try to have a "supplemental activity" every week as well to help stretch your skills. You can submit pieces of writing through the Google Classroom assignment that is posted. Here you can attach your work as a Google Doc, or a picture or scan of your actual written work. Let's try and see how it works!
Weekly Paragraph Write
Topic: When school resumes, would it be a good idea or a bad idea to make school uniforms mandatory? Why or why not?
Defend your opinion with as many details as you can!!
(P.S. what would a Caroline School uniform look like? I'd be curious to SEE your ideas!!)
Supplementary Writing Activity
Interview a Family Member
Taking the time out to learn more about the people in your family might surprise you! Get them to dig deep and think about their questions and their responses. Finish by writing a paragraph about your family member.
SCIENCE
We're going to start looking at Light & Shadows for Science. I will post one or more investigation questions for you to explore for the week. I will also try to include some hands-on activities you can do at home.
Weekly Science Question
What is light and how does it travel?
How is a shadow formed?
Talk about what "transparent", "translucent" and "opaque" mean.
Ooooooh... some kind of shadow puppet play
or pictures of shadow puppets would be cool here!!

SOCIAL STUDIES
Early Alberta, David Thompson & The Fur Trade
We are going to try to explore some of our history through some reader's theater supplied by the Rocky Mountain House Historic Site. Time to act and get dramatic! If you don't have puppets, I challenge you to find a way to perform these scripts out loud for someone every week. Get your family members to take on roles!
I will post a new script each week along with some photos and videos of anything I can find that would help. I would also like to know what FACTS you learn each new week from the scripts, photos and/or videos.
